Existence is not only in things themselves, but also in the space between them. The “ma” is a space where nothing seems to exist, but everything does. In this exhibition, European (Italian and British) photographers expressed the formless form of “ma” through the static form of photography.
We are always standing “between” various worlds.

Simone B. Riva
was born in 1983. European photographer from Lake Como, Italy, currently based in Tokyo. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics, Eastern philosophy, and the Western spirit’s search for meaning, she creates small, intimate prints that quietly provoke contemplation.
His artistic approach is situated at the “border” between the opposites of “inner world” and “reality”, “solitude” and “connection”, “East” and “West”. The work explores the poetics of impermanence, existence, and the quiet tension between opposites. He sees photography as a space of “resonance” rather than “explanation,” and believes that it rises from within that which words alone cannot speak.

Alex Prior
British photographer. He is an independent gallerist who organizes and manages exhibitions together with artists, and also produces and exhibits his own work. He has been shooting mainly in Europe (England and the Netherlands) and Asia (Japan, Hong Kong, China, India, etc.). He explores various methods of expression, such as using Japanese paper, local paper purchased at the location of the shoot, and expired photographic paper from around the world. In particular, the paper used in this exhibition is handmade paper from Nepal, and each piece has its own unique look and feel.
